Author Biography

MURRAY BAIL was born in Adelaide in 1941. Homesickness was his first novel. It won the 1980 National Book Council Award for Australian Literature and the Age Book of the Year Award. Eucalyptus, published in 1998, was the winner of the Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the Miles Franklin Literary Award in 1999. Murray Bail lives in Sydney.
