Author Biography

Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, The Brothers Grimm, were German academics, cultural researchers and authors who are best-known for their collections of folklore, which include such classic tales as "Cinderella," "The Frog-Prince," "Hansel and Gretl," and "Snow White." Together the brothers pioneered Germanic studies as a scholarly field and collaborated on a definitive German dictionary, which remained incomplete during their lifetimes. Their methodology for collecting and recording folk tales became the basis for studies in folklore, and their collected tales have inspired countless interpretations and adaptations since they were first published in the 19th century.
